Certain studies show that vitamin C prevents redox reactions which are a prime cause of cancer. It also regulates your immune response. The benefits of vitamin C for immunity start at the linings of our organs that face the outside world (e.g. the lungs and digestive tract), where it supports their function as barriers. When you do face an infection, vitamin C enhances the ability of immune cells to fight off microbes, and assists in cleaning up afterwards to stop unnecessary inflammation. It also helps the “adaptive” immune cells, which can learn to recognise specific microbes, divide and differentiate more readily.
For these reasons, even a mild deficiency of vitamin C increases your risk of infections and inflammation, and infections or inflammation deplete vitamin C. Consider IV vitamin C if you’ve been struggling through cold and flu season, or have poor wound healing.
Glutathione is known as the “master” antioxidant. Its powerful effects assist in preventing cellular damage and inflammation. Glutathione minimizes the oxidative stress in your body, shields cellular macromolecules such as DNA, and helps to detoxify the body by binding to certain unwanted chemicals in the liver. One of these is a particularly awful molecule that contributes to oxidative stress if left uncleared, called methylgloxal.
Consider glutathione if you want an anti-aging boost, or are dealing with chronic inflammatory issues.
B-Complex vitamins are water-soluble vitamins with a wide range of benefits. They are vital for cellular energy production; cellular division and DNA repair; immune cell production; neurotransmitter synthesis, and more. B-complex vitamins are also essential for healthy nails, hair, and skin.
B-Complex consists of:
B1 (thiamine, or thiamin) – Critical for nutrient metabolism, energy production, and neurological health.
B2 (riboflavin) – One of the key B vitamins for cellular energy production. Vitamin B2 also regenerates glutathione and is essential for cell and tissue growth.
B3 (niacin) – Vitamin B3 plays a critical role in energy production (as NAD+) and nutrient metabolism. NAD+ has several anti-aging and metabolism-regulating properties.
B5 (pantothenic acid) – Essential for energy production, as well as breaking down fats and carbohydrates. It works with vitamins B2 and B3 in the main energy generation pathways.
B6 (pyridoxine) – B6 is involved in immune and red blood cell production; energy generation and storage; and neurotransmitter production.
B7 (biotin) – Involved in cellular energy production, biotin is most commonly known for assisting healthy hair and nail growth.
B9 (folic acid) – This is required to help cells produce and maintain DNA , especially during division. It also reduces levels of the inflammatory homocysteine and supports amino acid metabolism.
B12 (cobalamin) – Alongside folic acid, vitamin B12 assists in protein metabolism and lowering homocysteine. It is essential for blood cell production, too.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Vitamin B2 is critical for energy metabolism pathways, so fatigue is one of the most common signs you are deficient. Moreover, it may be very helpful in reducing migraines, preventing cancer, and minimizing the risk of stroke by controlling blood pressure.
Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
Niacin is essential for cellular energy production too, working alongside riboflavin. Its other major functions are DNA repair, lowering cholesterol, metabolic regulation, and assisting in neurological health. Symptoms of mild deficiency can include fatigue, mood imbalances, and high cholesterol on your latest blood test.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid)
Pantothenic acid helps with energy production too, and maintains the health of your hair, skin, and nails. It may enhance wound healing through mechanisms such as increasing collagen, and could lower cholesterol.
Vitamin B7 (Biotin)
Biotin is most famous for improving the look, health, and strength of your hair, skin, and nails. Additionally, biotin assists in energy production and improves mental health. Symptoms of biotin deficiency include depression, hair loss, reduced muscle tone and coordination, dermatitis, and a decrease in mental cognition.
Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin)
Vitamin B12 is essential for neurological function, partly by reducing levels of the inflammatory homocysteine. Through assisting the growth of new red blood cells, it improves energy levels and concentration. It plays a significant role in DNA synthesis too, which aids normal tissue regeneration. B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, neurological issues, anemia, memory issues, dementia, and depression.
Although the human body is capable of producing vitamin D as a response to sun exposure, you may need a boost. Vitamin D3 regulates calcium metabolism, and maintains bone strength as a result. What’s more, it regulates immunity, helping to calm inflammation, and may lower your risk of some cancers by assisting in cell division and growth.
Magnesium participates in over 300 biochemical reactions and enzyme systems in the human body. Although it is one of the most abundant minerals in the body, with its stores contributing to bone mass, deficiencies are common. We use magnesium in many of our IV drips because it is essential to functions including cellular energy production and neurotransmitter synthesis.
Your body requires magnesium for healthy muscle and nerve function. It prevents muscle cramping, high blood pressure, and helps with balancing mood. Some of magnesium’s roles in energy production can improve insulin sensitivity and balance blood sugar, too.
Taking magnesium as an IV drip may help if you’re dealing with fatigue, muscle cramping, or anxiety, thanks to its role in the production of calming neurotransmitters. If you experience migraines, intravenous magnesium may provide a preventive or relieving effect.
Taurine is an amino acid that is commonly found in fish, meat, and dairy diets. As a result, taurine deficiency is often found in vegetarians and vegans. It also acts as an antioxidant, and plays roles in energy production and muscle function.
Taurine is essential for the growth and development of new brain cells, which is now known to be possible in adults. Neural stem cells require taurine to differentiate into neurons, and it may assist in their migration to the right places. Additionally, taurine can protect the integrity and function of the brain cells you already have. Taurine may also act as a calming neurotransmitter, similar to GABA.
Including taurine in your IV drip may relieve anxiety or depression, while improving cognition.
Included in our Post Viral Drip and Brain Health Drip, folic acid isn’t just for pre-conception care.
One of the most important roles of folic acid in immunity is the production of new immune cells. Folic acid is indispensable for healthy DNA production and cell division, which are needed on a constant basis to generate new immune cells before, during, and after infection. A severe infection can burn out large numbers of these cells, so you need to recharge. Folic acid can also be anti-inflammatory and cool down chronic inflammation in areas such as the brain.
Another benefit of folic acid in improving brain health is the control of homocysteine. This intermediate step in methylation (essential for cell division) and amino acid metabolism can lead to brain cell damage and mood dysregulation if left to accumulate. Reducing homocysteine can protect brain tissue, balance neurotransmitter production, and support new brain cells’ production.
Zinc is a very important vitamin for immunity, connective tissue repair, and hormonal balance. It can be a great accompaniment to vitamin C for minimizing the duration and severity of common colds, for example. Zinc is also crucial for maintaining testosterone balance, helping to prevent its conversion into the more potent DHT. Excess DHT can lead to issues such as acne and male-pattern hair loss.
Lysine is a popular amino acid for the relief of cold sores. It blocks arginine, another amino acid that the herpes simplex virus depends on. Anxiety is a common trigger of cold sores, which lysine may also relieve by reducing the stress hormone, cortisol. Even better, it protects against muscle protein breakdown, and is required for collagen production.
Amino Acid Blend - Haldeys Blend
Arginine HCl 100mg/ml – Arginine is required for nitric oxide production, a molecule that relaxes your blood vessel walls. Not only does this lower high blood pressure, but it can give you improved athletic performance.
Carnitine (L) 200mg/ml – Carnitine plays an important role in energy production from fat stores and dietary fat. It transports fatty acids from the bloodstream into the cells, and acts as an antioxidant too.
Isoleucine (L) 10mg/ml – One of the branch-chain amino acids, isoleucine is used by your muscles for energy.
Leucine (L) 10mg/ml – Another branched-chain amino acid, leucine stimulates muscle growth and protects against muscle breakdown. This is particularly important during and after heavy periods of exercise, such as training for a marathon.
Valine (L) 5mg/ml – The third branched-chain amino acid, valine promotes the burning of fat for energy, so you can perform at your best and lose unwanted weight.
We Care Amino Acid Blend
Arginine – An important source of nitric oxide, arginine lowers blood pressure and boosts circulation.
Glutamine – Glutamine is one of the most prevalent amino acids. It supports regeneration of the intestinal lining in cases of leaky gut, making it useful in cases of celiac disease or other gut inflammation. Even better, glutamine is a fuel source for the immune system and promotes tissue repair throughout the body.
Leucine – As a branched-chain amino acid, leucine aids muscle energy production and boosts athletic performance. Additionally, it protects muscle tissue integrity and supports muscle growth.
Ornithine – The odd one out, ornithine does not directly form proteins. However, it does help to increase growth hormone production, and levels of the amino acid proline, which is used to make collagen.
Glycine – Glycine is the main amino acid in collagen, the number one connective tissue protein in your body. Your tendons, ligaments, bones, and skin all contain large amounts of collagen. You also need glycine to make glutathione, the master antioxidant that protects your body during heavy workouts.
Taurine – Essential for energy production, antioxidant support, and brain health. Taurine is a calming neurotransmitter and promotes brain cell production, giving you a clear mind.
This blend of essential amino acids can help enhance athletic performance, decrease muscle loss, burn fat more quickly and improve metabolism speed. Whether you’re looking for improved performance and recovery, or assistance with weight loss, this blend may be best for you.
Calcium gluconate helps promote healthy bones and the normal functioning of muscles, nerves, and cells in the body. Calcium and magnesium work together to regulate muscle contraction and nerve function. While calcium is excitatory and increases the strength of contractions, magnesium has a relaxing effect.
Magnesium – Magnesium is required for over 300 biochemical reactions, including some involved in energy and neurotransmitter production. It’s also required for muscle contraction.
Calcium chloride – Calcium and magnesium work together in muscle and nerve impulses, providing excitatory and relaxant effects, respectively. Calcium is also essential for bone strength.
Zinc – Zinc is an immune booster with antioxidant effects, and regulates testosterone levels and function.
Copper – Copper is used to make one of our bodies’ own antioxidants, the enzyme zinc-copper superoxide dismutase (Zn-Cu SOD). Our own antioxidant enzymes do require vitamins and minerals to perform at their best, but they are more powerful.
Selenium - - Selenium supports the actions of glutathione, the “master” antioxidant that also aids detoxification. Its antioxidant effects make selenium indispensable for immunity and potentially cancer prevention, too.
Manganese – Manganese is a trace mineral that plays several roles in bone health, collagen production, and our antioxidant systems.
This essential blend of minerals helps reverse the effects of dehydration, remove toxins and replenish vitamins. Our Zen, Hangover, Performance, and Recovery drips all include this formula. Zinc, copper, selenium and manganese support antioxidant enzymes that help detoxification and post-workout recovery, while magnesium, calcium, and chloride are essential minerals lost during heavy exercise. The resulting reduction in inflammation can soothe stress and anxiety, too.
Pepcid – Pepcid reduces stomach acid production, and is used to relieve peptic ulcers and heartburn.
Zofran – Zofran is a heavy-duty nausea reliever. You can request it if you’ve been struggling with gastroenteritis, and it can calm the nausea and vomiting caused by surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
Toradol – Toradol is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID) best for moderate to severe pain. You may request this if you’ve recently had surgery or suffered an injury.
Benadryl - A lifesaver during allergy season, Benadryl is an over-the-counter antihistamine that can also be taken in IV drips.
